Frequently Asked Questions

Please Contact our office at 850-628-9326 or hmhs@healingtime4u.com if you have any questions or if you would like to schedule an appointment. We are always willing to help and assist you in meeting your mental health needs.

What do I do first?

Call our office and make an appointment.  We will personally take your call and guide you through the process.

How long is a counseling session?

Generally, sessions are 45 to 50 minutes long and we book appointments on the hour.

How do I pay?

We take cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard.  You pay the portion that is not paid by your insurance company.  This is paid at the time of service.  We will bill the insurance company for you. If self-pay, we can discuss our Self Pay option. Payment is due prior to services rendered.

How long will I be in counseling?

This depends on the individual.  Counseling is a cooperative effort on the part of the client and the therapist.  Together they will determine when maximum benefit has been reached.

Does this mean that I am mentally ill?

No.  It means that you are experiencing a difficult time in your life and that you need some assistance to make things better.

How do I contact my counselor between appointments?

During the week, phone calls are returned by the end of the day.

What does confidentiality mean?

It means that your protected health information will not be shared except with your approval.  There are exceptions to this, and they are (a) when there is danger to yourself or others; (b) when there is suspected neglect or abuse of a child, elder or disabled person. (c) in certain legal and emergency situations.

Can I stop at any time?

Absolutely.  You have the right to agree to treatment and to stop whenever you wish to do so.

What about counseling for children?

Children are protected by the same confidentiality guidelines.  We generally invite parent(s) only to the first session in order to obtain a complete history. Other sessions may include only the child, only the parent, or child and parent(s), or even other members of the family.
